The blank (1) is moved across a horizontal surface by a high-

speed. manipulator
(2) and makes a perfect stop without using any
mechanical references. A sheet rotator
(3) on the manipulator
positions the side to be bent in front of the press equally

rapidly and
accurately. The blankholder
(4) is sufficiently rigid to lock the blank
tightly and disengage it quickly. The bending unit
(5) with
interpolated movements and special blades
(6) can perform any
number of up or down bends in fast succession.
Tools
(7) for offset bends are available
to bend flaps over the side being bent.
They can be composed according to the
length required, up to a maximum of
125 mm, and are quickly and
automatically inserted between the
blank and the bending blades (6), at the
moment they are necessary, and then
removed.
